words are defined

words that define
words that rhyme
words those are mine
words i am saying
words i have said
words that will be uttered
if they are shaped by my lips
then they are my prenomonation

when said for me
deciphers my head with verbs
for not always words follow with actions

words that hurt
words that care
words i use to pray
words i use to betray
words so blunt that make dents
if they shaped by my lips
then its my punishments

when said by me
hearts cryout abstracts
for they are hurt just wish i had a prayer

words for love
words for care
words i hear
words i need to hear
words so beautiful that make me gay
if they shaped by her lips
then its my divine plan

when said to me
pulse race to a beat
for her rhythmic divine fills my life with every chord to note

words make words but its us who define them.

  4. this poem is really good when it’s done in spoken word, (i read it outloud cuz in my head it didn’t read as well), I met a guy that used to go to poetry “slams” who had a similar style, you should try it out, they’re pretty big on college campuses

  5. notjeffery says:

I dig the flow of your words.
Words are beautiful things that can do so much damage…
    Strange,

    Peace

  6. megzone says:

    awesome ending there 🙂
words are words, its how we define them that matter 🙂
our perceptions to words and expressions are wat matter 🙂

  7. Chris G. says:

I like the beat you’ve got going through this one–and a tight flow.

“words make words but its us who define them.” ~It is so true. Words have power, great deals of power–but only so long as we let them.

  12. Jessica says:

Loved this, and sums up everything about words wonderfully. Words sure can hurt too.

  13. sgneist says:

Words like water, clear or muddy, drops or streams, gentle or fierce – their meanings defined both by the sayer and the listener – never the same… I also think about them a lot. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I like it 🙂

  14. hindawy says:

    I think its nice

But the word “words” is mentioned 17 times I think its a bit too much 🙂

The variation in the language is a relief to the eye, which after a while just skips “words” altogether 🙂

  15. vivinfrance says:

Ah, that love affair with words: all poets must own it if we are to write anything worthwhile. Bravo.

  16. 700miles says:

if they shaped by her lips
    then its my divine plan

liked these lines a lot! very good writing, you have a way with taking words mashing them together and then rolling them out into one meaning, then doing it again and coming up with another. i like it. take care – keep writing!

  17. DiamondsAndDogs says:

    Lovely rhyme;

words so blunt that make dents
if they shaped by my lips
    then its my punishments
